   President of Japan-Thailand Education Exchange Society paid a courtesy call on Consul-General Dusit Manapan
                        On 9 December 2015, Mr. Shigayo Kimura, President of Japan-Thailand Education Exchange Society (JTEES), paid a courtesy call on Consul-General Dusit Manapan to introduce the participants of the 7th edition of the “Programme for Promoting Japanese Education for Thai Youths” in Kyoto during 2-15 December 2015.
                        The main purpose of the programme is to promote educational opportunity among Thai youths and cultural exchange between Thai and Japanese students. This year’s participants comprised 3 upper secondary school students from 3 schools in the north of Thailand and a teacher. The participants stayed with the Japanese host families in Kyoto Prefecture, visited secondary schools in Kyoto to exchange culture and experience with Japanese students, and had study trips to historic places in Kansai region.
                     
                        President of Japan-Thailand Education Exchange Society expressed his appreciation for the support of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka in activities to promote bilateral relations between Thailand and Japan organised by the Society, including an activity called “Loy Krathong Baimai Plian Si” (Autumn Loy Krathong) on 5 December 2015 at the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto in which Deputy Consul-General Chanida Kamalanavin participated. Main activities of the event included the candle lighting ceremony to celebrate H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 88th Birthday Anniversary and the singing of the Thai Royal Anthem, workshop to make Krathong (floating lantern), Thai musical performance by Japanese musicians, and Japanese traditional performance. The mentioned Thai students also attended the event and delivered speeches in Japanese followed by Thai traditional dance.      
 
                        The Consul-General expressed his sincere appreciation to the Japan-Thailand Education Exchange Society for its active role in enhancing the close friendship between Thailand and Japan as well as the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka’s readiness to support such activities of the Society in the future.
