On 5 November 2015 Deputy Consul-General Chanida Kamalanavin attended the opening ceremony of the Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2015 at the Wakayama Prefectural Cultural Hall. The Forum was opened by Mr. Yoshinobu Nisaka, the Governor of Wakayama Prefecture.
Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2015, organized by Wakayama Prefectural Government, provided the youth participants with a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience. 21 youth representatives from 21 countries in Asia and the Oceania were invited by Wakayama Prefecture to participate in the Forum along with Japanese high school students. Miss Chanumporn Sringarm of Satit Kaset MP Lab School was selected as Thai youth representative for this year’s Forum.
Since 5 November has been designated by the United Nations as “World Tsunami Day”, the 2015 Forum focused on the topics of measures against tsunami and other disasters, globalization and tourism/cultural exchanges, and environmental issues associated with economic growth.
