44th Japan Nationwide Kimono Dressing Contest of Nihon WasouGakuenin Kyoto from 30-31 July 2016

On 31 July 2016 Consul-General DusitManapan attended the 44th Japan Nationwide Kimono Dressing Contest of Nihon WasouGakuen and delivered the opening remarks.
The Consul-General commended Madam Hiroko Matsushima, President of Nihon WasouGakuen, on her dedication to the preservation of ancient and beautiful Japanese cultural heritage of kimono as well as organizing activities to strengthen Thailand-Japan friendship.
Moreover, on 30 July 2016, Deputy Consul-General ChanidaKamalanavin attendedand delivered her opening remarks at the reception of the 44thJapan Nationwide Kimono Dressing Contest of Nihon WasouGakuen.
The event was an opportunity for Thailand-Japan cultural exchange as a group of Thai youths was invited to perform Thai traditional dances during the opening ceremony of the event. The organization of the event received generous supportfrom Mr. SomchaiPahulrat, President of Thai-Japanese Association (Kimono) and Ms. BhusdeeNavavichit, Vice President, Special Projects and Activities, of the Old Japan Students’ association of the Kingdom of Thailand.
