On 1 August 2016, Consul-General Dusit Manapan delivered an opening remarks at “Osaka Thailand Business Seminar” organized by Osaka Foreign Business Promotion Council in collaboration with Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank and Ayuttaya Bank at Hannan University Abeno Harukas Campus (23F), Osaka. There were at least 100 participants in this event.
In his remarks, the Consul-General emphasized that Thailand and Japan have a closed tie and will celebrate the 130th anniversary of its diplomatic relations in 2017. At present, many Japanese people work and live in Thailand. Thailand has been realized to be a hub for trade, investment and logistics in Greater Mekong Sub-regional and Southeast Asia. The Thai government has put effort into increasing national competitiveness by investing in the mega projects such as the development of infrastructure, the special economic zones along the Eastern Economic Corridor as well as upgrading information technology (IT) and digital economy.
Moreover, the Consul-General commended the organizer and hoped that the participants may get more useful information and business opportunity in Thai market.
