10 May 2017 “Thai Cultural Performance in Mie” To Celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations

On 10 May 2017 from 17.00-18.30 hrs, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the Department of Cultural Promotion of Thailand and Mie Prefectural Government, organized“Thai Cultural Performance in Mie”at Mie Center for the Arts, Tsu, Mie Prefecture, to celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations. H.E. Mr. ViraRojpojchanarat, Minister for Culture of Thailand, presided over the event. Mr. Eikei Suzuki delivered congratulatory remarks. Mrs. ChanidaKamalanavin,Deputy Consul-General, Acting Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka, delivered welcoming remarks.
The “Thai Cultural Event in Mie” was attended by around 280 guests from the government and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, media, friends of Thailand in Mie and the general public.
The Thai cultural troupe comprising around 60 artists and performers, two of whom are respectable Thai national artists, performed Thai cultural performance from the four regions of Thailand, sang a musical composition of His Majesty King BhumibolAdulyadej“Oh I Say”and a special performance called “Thailand-Japan Friendly Relations”, which impressed the event’s attendees who expressed their appreciations and admiration for Thai cultural performance.
Main objectives of the “Thai Cultural Performance in Mie” wereto celebrate the occasion of 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations through the beautiful and unique Thai cultural performance and to strengthen Thailand-Japan relations especially at people-to-people level.
In organizing the “Thai Cultural Performance in Mie”, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka received generous support from various sectors including the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the Department of Cultural Promotion of Thailand, Mie Prefectural Government, the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences (IATSS Forum) and Yamamori Company (producer of Thai food ingredients in Japan).
