On 15 September 2017, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka organized “Thai Night” on the occasion of the 130th Anniversary of Thailand - Japan Diplomatic Relations. Guests from the government and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, Kansai consular corps, media and friends of Thailand in Kansai were invited to the event which was presided by Mr. MuninPaniswasdi, Consul - General of Thailand in Osaka. H.E. Mr. Yoichi Suzuki, Ambassador in charge of Kansai, and spouse were the event’s guests of honour. The “Thai Night” featured a variety of activities including a reception at Nakanoshima Social Eat Awake Restaurant & Bar during 17.30 - 18.30 hrs. attended by around 200 invited guests, concert of the musical compositions of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej performed by Thai artists, the Bangkok Metropole Band,and a Japanese guest singer,Ms. Akane Nakajima,attended by about 400 audiences, and an exhibition on His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The “Thai Night” accomplished its main objectives of paying tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, celebrating the 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations, and strengthening Thailand-Japan bilateral relations, especially at people-to-people level.
