On 13 February 2018, Mr. Munin Paniswasdi, Consul-General of Thailand to Osaka, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Toshizo Ido, Governor of Hyogo. During the meeting, both sides discussed on potential areas of cooperation between Thailand and Hyogo Prefecture based on mutual interests such as elderly care, disaster prevention and tourism.
On tourism, Consul-General Paniswasdi proposed his idea to promote cooperation in hot spring tourism development between Klong Thom District, Krabi Province, which is Thailand’s pilot zone for hot spring development, and Arima City, which is a well-known hot spring town of Hyogo Prefecture. Such initiative was welcomed by Governor Ido who expressed his readiness to fully support this cooperation.
