The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka attended the Annual Ikebana Flower Arrangement Workshop of the Ikebana International Association

On 17 and 20 September 2019, Mrs. Kyoko Tankanarat, wife of the Thai Consul-General to Osaka, attended the Annual Japanese-style Ikebana Flower Arrangement Workshop in Kyoto and Osaka respectively. In Kyoto, President Yoko Hotta of the Kyoto Chapter invited Mr. Kyoshin Nakano, General Director of Kado Honnohji School in Kyoto, to demonstrate the flower arrangement expressing simplicity and infinity at Kyoto Brighton Hotel, while in Osaka, President Masako Kishigami of the Osaka Chapter invited Mr. Naohiro Kasuya, Headmaster-to-be of Ichiyo Ikebana School in Tokyo, to demonstrate the flower arrangement expressing modernity at New Otani Hotel Osaka.
Ikebana International Association is the gathering of leading women in the Japanese society who have interest in the Ikebana flower arrangement. Presently, the Association has chapters both in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto Fukuoka, Nagoya, Okinawa, Kobe, Sendai, Hiroshima, Shinano and Saitama) and overseas (for example, the United States, Aust New Zealand, South Africa, Asia and ASEAN countries, including Thailand). Each year, Chapters of the Association would invite foreign Consulates-General to join the workshop to promote cultural exchange and create network among each other. Besides the flower arrangement demonstration, activities such as cultural and musical performances, bazaar and other charity activities are also present.
