Consul-General of Thailand to Osaka pays a courtesy call on

Mayor of Kobe City

          On 30 September 2019, Consul-General Krit Tankanarat of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Mayor Kizo Hisamoto of Kobe City at the Kobe City Hall. Both sides exchanged views on economic, tourism and social cooperation, especially in the preparedness towards becoming an ageing society.

            Kobe city is the capital of Hyogo Prefecture. Besides being a tourist destination well-known for food and culture, the city also specializes in research and medical technology which is in line with Thailand’s interest. At present, the city operates the Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster Project which combines universities and institutions specializing in biomedical technology together, with the aim for Kobe city to become Japan’s center for research and medical innovation.
